World Heart Day 2023

Date: 29-09-2023

World Health Day is an annual global event celebrated on 29th September dedicated to raise awareness about cardiovascular health and promoting heart-healthy lifestyles.
Under the aegis of IQAC, the Department of Life Sciences & Allied Health Sciences, celebrated World Heart Day by organizing various activities aimed to educate all students and staff (teaching and non-teaching) on the risk factors of heart diseases and how to prevent them.
The poster presentation and PowerPoint (Oral) presentations on the theme “Cardiovascular Health Promotion” were organized in the designated venues and at scheduled times on 29th September 2023.
A total of students from different disciplines of science participated in these activities. Through charts, posters and presentations and discussions, participants educate all visitors about the importance of a balanced diet, regular exercise, and avoiding tobacco use to maintain a healthy heart.
Students were also encouraged to disseminate heart health information to the general public including their family, relatives and friends through social media platforms.
Additionally, they were also guided to do regular walking, cycling and physical activities to improve heart health and fight against heart diseases.
The participants also took the pledge to make positive lifestyle changes which are vital for heart health.
The people above 45 years were motivated for regular health screenings for early detection of health-related issues which is crucial for effective management and prevention.
All participants and winners of various activities were awarded e-certificates.
Overall, the day was very fruitful and let everyone hope that heart diseases will become increasingly preventable and manageable in the future.
The event was concluded with a vote of thanks to all participants by Dr Shweta Singh (HOD, Life Sciences & Allied Health Sciences) for their enthusiastic participation and conduct.
