Mega Job Fest

With the heavenly blessings of Reverend Sant Baba Malkit Singh Ji and Reverend Sant Baba Dlawar Singh Ji (Brahm Ji), and with the benign endorsement of Baba Janak Singh Ji & Honorable Chancellor Sant Manmohan Singh ji, and under the valuable guidance of Honorable Vice-Chancellor Prof. (Dr.) Dharmjit Singh Parmar, the Department of Training and Placements (T&P) of the Sant Baba Bhag Singh University organized ‘1st Mega Job Fest’ on 14th October 23 (Saturday) in the campus. As per tradition of the University, the Mega Job Fest was commenced with Shabd Gayan followed by the Lamp Lighting ceremony by Baba Janak Singh Ji and Sant Manmohan Singh Ji, Honourable Chancellor of the University and other dignitaries. In his inaugural speech, Sant Manmohan Singh Ji shared the glorious history, vision and mission behind the genesis of Sant Baba Bhag Singh Educational Complex (SBBSEC) and the University. Further, Sant Manmohan Singh Ji emphasised that Sant Baba Bhag Singh University is an esteemed educational platform committed to foster the interests of the students and ensures their placement and holistic development. The 1st Mega Job Fest was declared open by Baba Janak Singh Ji and Sant Manmohan Singh Ji.
The idea of initiating such large-scale campus placement drives exclusively for the alumni and passing out students of the Sant Baba Bhag Singh University for the first time is mooted by Dr. Dharmjit Singh Parmar, Honorable Vice-Chancellor of the University. He highlighted that such placement drives are beneficial for the students to become self-reliant and connect with the potential employers. Dr. Dharmjit Singh Parmar expressed his heartfelt gratitude to Sant Baba Janak Singh Ji, Sant Manmohan Singh Ji (Honourable Chancellor), and the esteemed members of the management of the SBBSMCS including S. Hardaman Singh Minhas (Honourable Secretary of SBBSEC) for their support. He also appreciated Dr. Jagteshwar Singh (T&P officer) and Mr. Harminder Singh (Assistant TPO) from the Department of Training & Placements, and their team for executing well-coordinated 1st Mega Job Fest in the premises of the Sant Baba Bhag Singh University.
Dr. Jagteshwar Singh (TPO) briefed that more than 750 students from 2022 (pass out), 2023 (pass out) and 2024 (passing out) batches of the University registered and appeared in this first mega campus placement drive. In this initiative, ten+ reputed placement companies and institutions came for the selection of the students. Dr. Jagteshwar Singh (TPO) and Mr. Harminder Singh (Assistant TPO) briefed that the executives from the companies viz., Ivy Hospital, 4 by OYO, Infotelconnect, Dohavid, CS Soft Solutions, Comfortinnalstonia, Novem Control, Hike Education, UpRoar Learning Pvt Ltd., Decathlon, The Motivators, and Jawandsons Private Limited visited the campus for conducting the interviews and selection of the students at the University. The students of various streams like B. Tech. (all branches), B. Sc. (Medical), B. Sc. (Non-Medical), B. Sc. (MLS), BHMCT, B. Sc. (ATHM), B. Sc. (IT), BCA, MCA, BBA, MBA, B.Com, M.Com, B. A., B. P. Ed, BPES, B. Sc. (FD) and M. Sc. (FD) were highly enthusiastic and well-prepared to face the interviews. Besides this, students of B. Sc. (Nursing) and GNM from Sant Baba Bhag Singh Institute of Nursing (SBBSIN) also actively participated in this Mega Job Fest.
As a result of the meticulous efforts and confidence of the students, more than 130 students were selected, shortlisted and offered jobs during this 1st Mega Job Fest. The students placed at Hike Education received the highest package of 6.5 LPA. The event was successfully concluded by the distribution of offer letters to the selected candidate by Baba Janak Singh Ji & Sant Manmohan Singh ji (Honorable Chancellor). In the vote of thanks address Dr. Jagteshwar Singh acknowledged the relentless efforts of all the faculty members and students involved in thriving organization of this job fest. He thanked Mr. Pawan Kumar (Department of Hotel Management) and his entire team of dedicated teachers and students for the incessant hospitality services. This Mega Job Fest was coordinated by Dr. Vijay Dhir (Registrar), Dr. Aneet Kumar (Dean Academics) and Mr. Roop Singh (Dy. Registrar). The stage was conducted by Ms. Surinder Kaur (UIH). The Honorable Vice-Chancellor of the University, Dr. Dharmjit Singh Parmar, acknowledged the companies and their executives and students for their active participation in this drive. He congratulated all the placed students and urged students to actively participate in such activities for their complete growth and development of learners.
