The visit to the Kisan Fest at the Central Institute of Post Harvest Engineering & Technology (CIPHET) in Ludhiana, Dr. Shalu & Dr.Vikrant accompanied by a group of M.Sc Horticulture students, was a highly educational and enriching experience. This fest, which took place from on 3rd October,2023 ,offered a comprehensive insight into the world of post-harvest technologies and their critical role in modern agriculture.
Our group of M.Sc agriculture students had the privilege of exploring various facets of the fest, gaining practical exposure to the latest innovations and practices in the field. The event provided a diverse array of exhibits and demonstrations, showcasing cutting-edge technologies related to crop processing, storage, and preservation. It was an excellent opportunity for the students to witness these technologies in action and understand their relevance in reducing post-harvest losses and enhancing crop quality.
CIPHET's experts and scientists shared their knowledge and expertise through informative sessions and seminars. The students had the chance to interact with these experts, ask questions, and gain valuable insights into the challenges and solutions within the agricultural sector.
One standout feature of the fest was CIPHET's strong emphasis on promoting millets and other traditional grains, aligning with the global recognition of the International Year of Millets.
The visit to the Kisan Fest at CIPHET in Ludhiana served as an exceptional educational experience for our M.Sc agriculture students.
