Communication Skills

A webinar on the topic “Communication Skills” was organized by Student’s Counselling Cell, Sant Baba Bhag Singh University, Khiala, Jalandhar. Dr. Shaveta Sharma, University Counsellor welcomed and introduced the resource person, Ms. Amita Khosla, Assistant Professor, BCM College of Education, Ludhiana. She has more than 13 years of teaching experience in the field of Education and English. She has contributed a lot for the promotion of Educational Research. She has participated and presented papers in numerous national and international conferences and has been working as a reviewer and assessor of research papers at the national and international level. Her lecture focused on Effective communication which is more than just exchanging information. It's about understanding the emotion and intentions behind the information. She also empathized on effective listening to gains the full meaning of what's being said.
After that, she gave presentation on ‘How to improve communication skills’ and ‘How to highlight communication skills.’ The webinar witnessed an active participation from students, faculty members across Humanities, Education, Commerce and Engineering. Nearly, 80 participants (students and faculty members) from various departments joined the webinar virtually. The webinar was structured in a PPT with visual impact. Positive feedback was received from the audience. The resource person thanked the organizers for arranging the webinar. Mr. Anmol Preet Pal Singh and Ms. Rajveer Kaur, Dr. Nirmal Kaur, Ms. Surinder Kaur, Er. Jagteshwar Singh, Dr. Chetna Sharma and Dr Rajwant Kaur Institute Coordinators (Students’ Counselling Cell) were also present. Session was followed by question-and-answer session. The programme was concluded with vote of thanks by Convener of the programme.
