The three-day University Youth Festival “YUVA-22” of Sant Baba Bhag Singh University was concluded on 3rd December, 2022 (Saturday) successfully on a positive note with the divine blessings of the founder and first Chancellor of SBBSU, Revered Sant Baba Malkit Singh Ji and second Chancellor, Revered Sant Baba Dlawar Singh Ji (Brahm Ji) , and under the patronage of present Chancellor of SBBSU, Sant Sarwan Singh Ji, President, Sant Baba Bhag Singh Memorial Charitable Society; and the esteemed management of the University and Dr. Dharmjit Singh Parmar, Vice-Chancellor, SBBSU. The last day of the youth festival commenced with the Shabad Kirtan followed by Ardaas by Sant Sarwan Singh Ji and Sant Manmohan Singh Ji, Vice-President, SBBSMCS. Baba Janak Singh Ji also graced the occasion with his kind presence.
The Chancellor of the University, Revered Sant Sarwan Singh Ji addressed the artists from various departments and emphasized that the University Youth Festival ‘YUVA-22’ is an apt platform to showcase the rich and inclusive tradition and culture of the country.
Dr. Dharmjit Singh Parmar, Vice-Chancellor of the University acknowledged the efforts of each and every member of the University and Management for organizing such a large scale event in a disciplined and effective approach. In his address, he briefed about the first two days of the Youth Festival, and wished success for the last day of the event. Dr. Parmar, Vice-Chancellor emphasized that Sant Baba Bhag Singh Educational Complex is a unique educational Institute for downtrodden people and all academic courses running at its vicinity are fully blossomed. He welcomed all esteemed guests and duly acknowledged the efforts of S. Pritpal Singh in organizing the Youth Festival. He said that Youth festivals are the cradles of student articulation and platform where new artistic minds are explored.
The Chief Guest(Valedictory Session)of University Youth Festival “YUVA-22”,venerated Sh. Som Prakash, IAS (Retd), Hon’ble Union Minister for State, Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Govt of India was overwhelmed to see a glimpse of the entire culture of the country on one platform. In his address, he emphasized that such platforms lead to the overall holistic personality development of the students that continue to provide them a space, where students can vent their hidden talent and develop confidence to further participate in the national and international-level competitions. Sh. Som Prakash motivated the youth through his success stories and experiences, and highlighted the importance of the quality education and inculcating cultural values in the young minds.Hecongratulated the Chancellor, Vice-Chancellor of the University and its management for their tremendous efforts to make the University Youth Festival a huge success. Sh. Som Parkash remembered his last visit (about 25 years back), as a Deputy Commissioner of the District, to the SBBSEC when he got blessings from Sant Baba Malkit Singh Ji. He discussed about transition that has happened over the years. He emphasized that any change which is for the betterment, must be adopted. Any unwanted and undesirable change in culture and traditions needs to be avoided in order to make India, a better place to live.
The Chief Guest of the morning session, Shri Jaikrishan Singh Rouri Ji, Deputy Speaker, Punjab Legislative Assesmbly, in his opening remarks thanked all the esteemed guests, Chancellor of the University, Vice-President, Secretary, SBBSMCS and entire management of the University. He was nostalgic about his study and college days. He said that SBBSEC is wonderful Educational Complex for education of budding minds from nursery to Ph.D. He saluted to the efforts of venerated Saints for establishing and running such a devotional and Educational organization. He asked students to stay in their motherland for education purpose and value their inherited culture.
Pandit Brahm Shankar Sharma Jimpa, Minister for Revenue and Water Resources, Government of Punjab, the special guest of Honour was mesmerized to see the talented students and green campus of the University.Sh. Brahm Shankar Jimpa said that participation in extracurricular activities help the students to develop good oration, communication and organization skills that remain with them even after their studies.He highlighted the contribution of the Govt. of Punjab for the welfare of the students. Sh. Jimpa promised to provide the grant for Educational purpose from the Govt. to the University for the welfare of needy students.
Dr. Ravjot Singh, MLA thanked and congratulatedthe University authorities. He asked students to participate in sports as well for the betterment.
Mr. JitLall Bhatti, Halka In charge AamAadmi Party, Adampur said that SBBSEC is best choice for the common people to get quality education at least or nominal fee.
Sh. Satvir Singh Pallijhiki, Former Chairman, District Planning Board, SBS Nagar highlighted that students and staff members are lucky to study and learn under the divine guidance of saints. He asked Youth to actively participate in each competitive event and co-curricular events.
The star-attraction of the University Youth Festival ‘YUVA-22’, well-known singer Mr. Nirvair Pannu and Mr. Preet Sanghreri, performed with his group of musicians and artists during a live concert at the University’s jam-packed audience, before the valedictory session.
On the last day of University Youth Festival YUVA 2022, the delegation of esteemed special guests included Dr. Raj Kumar, Hon’ble MLA, Chabbewal; Dr. Ravjot Singh, Hon’ble MLA, Sham Chaurasi; Sh. Brahm Shankar Jimpa, Minister of Revenue;renowned philanthropist and social worker Mr. Jatinder Jay Minhas, International Advisor of Educational Affairs,Canada; Padamshri IG Police S. Kartar Singh; Mr. Nipun Sharma, BJP President, Hoshiarpur; Progressive Farmer and adjunct Professor, S. Mohinder Singh Dosanjh; Sh. Dashminder Kumar, Chairman, Lions Eye Hospital Charitable Society Aadampur; and Sh. Amarjit Singh, Member, Lions Eye Hospital Adampur.
S. Hardaman Singh Minhas, Secretary, SBBSMCS appreciated the students and whole team for organizing such a colorful and well-coordinated Youth Festival in the premises of the Sant Baba Bhag Singh University. He highlighted the need of such activities for the complete growth and development of learners.S. Minhas also shared the glorious history, vision and mission behind the genesis of SBBSEC.
S. Pritpal Singh offered his gratitude and appreciation to all the members who were directly or indirectly associated with the Youth Festival. He informed that an array of renowned experts were invited from the different educational institutions and organizations to judge various competitive events during three-days Varsity's Youth Festival.
During valedictory session, in the closing ceremony, the winners were presented with medals and trophies. The organizing team was distributed the certificates and awards of appreciation. Dr. Sandeep Randhawa and Dr. Nirmal Kaur, the Event Coordinators informed that on last day, six teams participated in each Gidhha and Bhangra.The glittering performances of the students in various competitive events like Gidhha, Bhangra and fashion-show drew rounds of applause from the audience.

Ranjit Singh (Principal SBBSIS), Mrs. Manju Chawla (Principal SBBSIN), CA&FO SBBSU, all Deans and Directors, Heads, coordinators and in charges of various departments, all teaching and non-teaching staff members of the University were present.
