Grand opening of three-day University Youth Festival 'YUVA 2022' at Sant Baba Bhag Singh University
Sant Baba Bhag Singh University is organizing three-day University Youth Festival “YUVA-22” with the divine blessings of the founder and first Chancellor of SBBSU, Revered Sant Baba Malkit Singh Ji and second chancellor, Revered Sant Baba Dlawar Singh Ji (Brahm Ji), and under the patronage of present Chancellor of SBBSU, Sant Sarwan Singh Ji and the esteemed management of the University and Dr. Dharmjit Singh Parmar, Vice-Chancellor, SBBSU. The three-day University Youth Festival 'YUVA 2022' commenced on 1st December, 2022 (Thursday) at Sant Baba Bhag Singh University, Khiala, District Jalandhar and will be celebrated till 3rd December, 2022 (Saturday). As per tradition, the program started with Shabad Kirtan followed by Ardaas by Sant Sarwan Singh Ji and Sant Manmohan Singh Ji.
In his inaugural speech, Reverend Sant Sarwan Singh Ji, Chancellor of the University appealed to keep the Punjabi culture and heritage alive. Further, he said that such youth festivals are a great initiative to preserve the cultural heritage and traditions. Sant Sarwan Singh Ji emphasized that Sant Baba Bhag Singh University is an esteemed educational platform committed to foster the interests, language, literature and culture among the youth and masses.
Dr. Dharmjit Singh Parmar, Vice-Chancellor of the University appreciated the efforts of the participants and events coordinators. He conveyed his best wishes to all the participating students for the University Youth Festival “YUVA-22”. Dr. Parmar, Vice-Chancellor, SBBSU said that besides quality academics, the extra-curricular activities including youth festivals instill confidence in the students, and only with this confidence, students can showcase their skills by participating in large-scale competitions. He said that this Youth Festival will be a milestone in promoting heritage and culture, and young students will get new guidance and new talents will emerge in culture.
The Chief Guest of the YUVA 2022, Mr. Gurmeet Singh Meet Hayer, Cabinet Minister, Ministry of Governance Reforms, Printing & Stationery, Science Technology & Environment, Sports & Youth Services, Higher Education, Punjab said that one should feel proud of their language, traditions and rich cultural heritage. Mr. Hayer emphasized that Youth is the backbone of a nation and they are the pillars on which the nation rests. He urged the youth to promote their culture and traditions at such platforms at National and International levels. He congratulated Sant Baba Bhag Singh University for organizing the Youth Festival to create socio-cultural awareness among the countrymen.
Remarks were given by the renowned NRI, enthusiastic social work and great philanthropist, Mr. Jatinder Jay Minhas, President & CEO, Elegant Development Inc., and esteemed member, Board of Management of Sant Baba Bhag Singh University, in which he appreciated the tremendous efforts of Sant Baba Bhag Singh University in transitioning the young minds through transforming education. He emphasized that being an ardent follower of the Sant Baba Bhag Singh Ji Dera, Santpura, Jabbar, he is associated with this organization since its establishment. He appreciated the efforts of participants and motivated the learners to enhance their skills such as communication, leadership, teamwork, organization and managment. Mr. Minhas motivated the students to work hard honestly and keep learning through various platforms. He stressed upon collaboration between SBBSU with International bodies for the better placements of the students of the University. An eminent personality, Mr. Manjit Singh Nijjar, Hon’ble Member High Powered Investment Committee, Govt. of Punjab; Business Development Associate, Parkside Hotel Group; University of London, UK; Senior Honorary NRI coordinator and a prominent entrepreneur was mesmerized with the colourful performances of the students. He said that youth learn lots of life-saving skills through participation in extra- and co-curricular activities. The celebrations like Youth festivals are an integral part of education that plays as a medium of interchange of culture and promotion of discipline.
The Guest of Honour, Mr. Jaspreet Singh, IAS, Deputy Commisioner, Jalandhar motivated the students of the University. Mr. Jit Lall Bhatti, Adampur Halka in charge (Aam Aadmi Party), Mayor Surinder Singh, Nagar Nigam Hoshiarpur; Mr. Harmeet Aulakh, Improvement Trust Chairman, Hoshiarpur; Mr. Rajeshwar Dyal Babbi represented Mr. Brahm Shankar Jimpa, MLA, Hoshiarpur, Punjab and Mr. Varinder Sharma Bindu were also present as the esteemed guests of the day..
The esteemed dignitaries, Giani Santhokh Singh Powar, and Ms. Hardeep Kaur Jaswal, Canada are always involved in promoting the students of the Sant Baba Bhag Singh University at various platforms, and they also encouraged the participants of the University Youth Festival “YUVA 2022”. Dr. Pritpal Singh, Vice-Chancellor, Sri Guru Granth Sahib World University, Fatehgarh Sahib, Dr. Ravjot Singh, Member of Legislative Assembly, Sham Chaurasi, Punjab and Mr. Lovedeep Singh, Naib-Tehsildar, Sham Chaurasi, Punjab attended the program as special guests of the event.
The program coordinators, Dr. Sandeep Randhawa and Dr. Nirmal Kaur said that about 4000 students of different institutions of the university are participating in more than 80 competitions to be organized in this Youth Festival. On the first day of the University Youth Festival ‘YUVA 2022’ various religious events such as Vaar Gaayan, Kavishiri, Group Shabad/ Bhajan, Gurbani Kanth, Turban Tying.Technical events such as Debate, Declamation, Essay Writing, Quiz Competition (Traditional Punjabi Culture), Funny Crime Scene Story, Nail Art, Mehndi, General Quiz Competition, Short Play, Poetry, Rangoli Competition, LAN Gaming, Logo Designing, PPT (Innovative Techniques), Group Discussion, Speech, Model Presentation, One Minute JAM, Technical Power Point Presentation, Electrical Model Exhibition, Word Puzzle, Chess Competition, Indoor Cricket, Auto CAD Competition, Treasure Hunt, Beat the Code, Hands on Keyboard, Food Making Competition, Sketch Drawing, Collage Making, On the Spot Photography, Best Out of Waste, AD Mad Show, Role Play, YUVA Lottery, Business Quiz, Business Plan, Slogan Writing, Master Chef, Short Video Contest, Stand up "COMEDIAN", Make up Competition, Best Attire, Cooking without Fire, Young Scientists and Innovation, StartUP Event, Poster Making, Phulkari Making, Canvas Painting, Creative Writing, Calligraphy, Clay Modelling, Jewellery Making, Bench Press, Push Up, Chikku Making, Pakhi Making, Eennu Making, Crosia (Crochet) Making. folk song, solo song and group song etc competitions were conducted which was the center of attraction of the first day of University Youth Festival ‘YUVA 2022’.
