Event Report


Introduction

On the occasion of International Literacy Day, the Department of Commerce organized a Skit Competition on the theme “Gender Equality” on 09 September 2026. The objective of the activity was to spread awareness among students regarding the importance of gender equality in education, workplace, and society through creative expression.

Participants

A total of four teams (A, B, C, and D) participated in the competition. Each team presented a skit highlighting different aspects of gender equality such as equal educational opportunities, women empowerment, and elimination of gender discrimination.

Judges of the Event

The competition was evaluated by the following esteemed judges:

  • Dr. Baljeet Kaur, Assistant Professor, Department of Commerce
  • Ms. Gurjinder Kaur, Assistant Professor, Department of Management

Event Proceedings

The programme commenced with a brief introduction of the theme followed by sequential performances by all four teams. Each team presented impactful skits showcasing real-life situations and social issues related to gender inequality. The performances were judged on criteria such as content, presentation, creativity, teamwork, and overall impact.

6. Results

After careful evaluation, the results of the competition were declared as follows:

  • Winner: Team C
  • First Runner-Up: Team B

The winning team was appreciated for their strong message delivery, excellent coordination, and impactful performance.

Conclusion

The Skit Competition was highly successful in achieving its objective of raising awareness about gender equality among students. The event not only enhanced the creative skills of participants but also encouraged them to think critically about social issues. The Department of Commerce appreciated all participants for their enthusiastic involvement and commendable performances.
