A Har Ghar Tiranga event was organized on 17 th August 2026 at 11:00 A.M.
in the seminar hall of the University through MY Bharat, an initiative of the
Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports, Government of India with the benign
blessings and under the devout patronage of Honourable Sant Baba Malkit
Singh ji, Sant Baba Dilawar Singh Brahm ji and reverend Chancellor, Sant
Manmohan Singh Ji. The programme was organized under the guidance of
Honourable Vice Chancellor, Prof. (Dr.) Palwinder Singh with the objective of
promoting patriotism, national unity and, respect for the National Flag amongst
students.
The programme commenced with a formal welcome of Honourable Vice
Chancellor, Prof. (Dr.) Palwinder Singh and Dean Academics Dr. Vijay Dhir. A
formal speech on National Code of 2002 was delivered by Dr.Amita Dhawan,
Nodal Officer, My Bharat Portal in which all the guidelines and codes of the
National Flag of India were discussed along with apprising its historical and
symbolic importance. The importance of the Ashoka Chakra was also
highlighted. After the speech, students were taken for Har Ghar Tiranga walk.
The programme also provided an opportunity for students to understand that the
National Flag represents the sacrifices of countless freedom fighters and the
aspirations of the people of India.
Overall, the event reflected the role of MY Bharat along with the efforts of the
university in engaging young people, thereby, students in meaningful activities
connected with national development and social responsibility. The programme
concluded with the National anthem.
