Objectives:
- To create awareness among students and the community about the importance of water conservation.
- To promote the responsible and efficient use of water in daily life.
- To educate participants about the consequences of water wastage and water scarcity.
- To encourage the adoption of simple water-saving practices at home, educational institutions, and public places.
- To develop a sense of responsibility towards protecting and conserving natural water resources.
Highlights:
- The Electrical Engineering Department, UIET, Sant Baba Bhag Singh University (SBBSU), Jalandhar organized an extension activity on “SAVE WATER SAVE NATION” at Govt High School, Ghurial, Jalandhar, Punjab, India, on 19th September, 2026.
- A total of 10 students and 2 faculty members organized the extension activity.
- The Department of Electrical Engineering, UIET, SBBSU organized an extension activity on “Save Water, Save Nation” with the objective of creating awareness about the importance of water conservation and sustainable use of water resources.
- During the activity, students and participants were sensitized about the increasing demand for water and the need to prevent unnecessary wastage. Various practical measures for water conservation were discussed, including closing taps properly, repairing leaking taps and pipelines, avoiding excessive use of water, reusing water wherever possible, and promoting rainwater harvesting.
- Students actively participated in the awareness activity and conveyed the message that every drop of water is valuable. They were encouraged to spread awareness among their families and communities and to adopt water-saving practices in their daily lives.
- The activity successfully increased awareness among the participants regarding the importance of conserving water. Students understood their role in reducing water wastage and promoting sustainable water-use practices. The activity also encouraged participants to become ambassadors of water conservation and spread the message within their families and local communities.
