- To explore various health and social risks associated with mobile phone use
Event Highlights:
The Electrical Engineering Department of UIET, SBBSU organized an insightful extension activity on “Mobile Phone Hazards” at Govt High School, Ghurial, Jalandhar on 9th April, 2025.
The session aimed at spreading awareness about the harmful impacts of mobile phone usage on health and society.
The following key points were addressed during the activity:
- Radiation Exposure: Health effects of mobile phone radiation including potential cancer risks.
- Addiction and Overuse: Impact of excessive phone usage on mental health and daily routine.
- Mental Health Impacts: Anxiety, depression, cyberbullying, and their correlation with mobile use.
- Physical Health Issues: Eye strain, disturbed sleep patterns, and posture-related problems.
- Social Impacts: Effects on interpersonal skills, family interaction, and social isolation.
- Prevention and Mitigation: Tips to reduce screen time and encourage mindful usage.
- Cyberbullying and Online Harassment: Awareness on digital safety and responsible phone use.
The activity successfully created awareness among school students and encouraged them to adopt healthier digital habits.
