Activity Report
On April 27, 2026, the University Institute of Engineering and Technology (UIET) at Sant Baba Bhag Singh University celebrated Earth Day by conducting the Bharat Environment Program 2026. This initiative was specifically designed for students of B.Tech CSE and B.Tech CSE AI & ML, focusing on the intersection of modern technology and environmental stewardship.
The activity was held under the able guidance of Dr. Jagdeep Kaur (Dean, UIET) and managed by Er. Hitakshi.
The program was supported and attended by distinguished faculty members:
Students were briefed on several key areas aimed at creating a "Green Campus" and a sustainable future:
The event began with an awareness speech followed by an interactive session. The discussion focused on how future engineers can bridge the gap between technical advancement and nature conservation. Faculty members emphasized the importance of Green Computing and the ethical responsibility of developers in the age of AI and high-energy consumption.
The highlight of the event was the collective taking of the Sustainability Pledge, specifically tailored for the Computer Science department. Students committed to the following:
"I pledge to use technology responsibly, to promote sustainability, and reduce environmental impact.
I will develop and adopt energy-efficient solutions, minimize e-waste, and support green computing practices.
I will use my skills in computer science to create innovative solutions for a cleaner and smarter future.
Together, we can build a sustainable and digitally responsible world."
The Bharat Environment Program 2026 successfully empowered the students of UIET to think beyond code and consider their "digital footprint." By celebrating Earth Day through this program, Sant Baba Bhag Singh University continues to lead by example in fostering environmentally conscious technical education.
