An awareness lecture on Cyber Security and Prevention was delivered at Government High School, Jandu Singha, Jalandhar, on 13 October 2026. The lecture was conducted by Er. Kirandeep and Er. Akashdeep Singh Rana, Assistant Professors, Department of Computer Science and Engineering (CSE), along with students of B.Tech. CSE, 7th Semester.

The primary objective of the lecture was to create awareness among school students about cyber security, online safety, and preventive measures against cyber threats. The speakers explained the importance of using the internet responsibly and protecting personal information in the digital world.

The session covered various aspects of cyber security, including common cyber threats, online fraud, phishing attacks, password security, safe use of social media, protection of personal data, and prevention of cybercrime. The students were also informed about the importance of avoiding suspicious links, not sharing confidential information with unknown persons, and reporting cyber incidents to the appropriate authorities.

The B.Tech. CSE 7th-semester students actively participated in the awareness programme and helped communicate important cyber safety practices to the school students. The session encouraged students to adopt responsible digital habits and remain alert while using online platforms.

The lecture was informative and beneficial, helping students understand the significance of cyber security and the practical steps required to stay safe online. The initiative reflected the commitment of the Department of Computer Science and Engineering towards promoting digital literacy and cyber safety awareness in the community.
