Event Report
An Inter-Institute Poetry Competition was successfully organized on the occasion of World Poetry Day
under the theme “Poetry as a Bridge for Peace and Inclusion”. The event was organized by Student
Welfare and Youth Welfare in collaboration with University Institute of Education and University
Institute of Humanities. The event aimed to promote creativity, harmony, and expression among students
while fostering a spirit of unity through literary art.
A total of 8 student participants from University Institute of Education (UIE), University Institute of
Humanities (UIH), and University Institute of Sciences (UIS) actively participated in the competition.
The programme witnessed an enthusiastic audience, with around 150 students and 20 faculty members

The event was graced by esteemed dignitaries including Dr. Gurmanik Kaur (Deputy Dean Academic),
Dr. Vikrant Jaryan (Deputy Director Student Welfare - Boys), Ms. Shaina Parmar (Deputy Director
Youth Welfare), Dr. Jagdeep Kaur (Dean UIET), Dr. Shweta Singh (Dean UIAHS), and Dr. Shalu Vyas
(Additional Dean UIA). Their presence motivated the participants and added prestige to the occasion.
The programme was effectively hosted by Dr. Vikrant Jaryan, who engaged the audience with his
eloquence and ensured smooth conduct of the event. The performances were evaluated by a distinguished
panel of judges comprising Dr. Samriti, Dr. Anita, and Ms. Rajbir, who assessed the participants on
creativity, expression, relevance to the theme, and presentation skills.
The competition showcased diverse poetic expressions focusing on themes of peace, inclusivity, and
social harmony. After the student performances, faculty members also shared their poetic compositions,
adding depth and inspiration to the event.
