The University Institute of Law, under the aegis of IQAC, SBBSU and in collaboration with DLSA, organized a Swachh Bharat Abhiyan (Cleaning Drive) to commemorate the nationwide cleanliness campaign launched by the Government of India under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi on 2nd October 2014.
This mission, dedicated to Mahatma Gandhi, aims to promote sanitation and cleanliness throughout the country. The event was held on 14th February 2025, encouraging students to reflect upon and creatively express the values and ideals championed by Sh. Narendra Damodardas Modi.
The event was held with the heavenly blessings of Sant Baba Dilawar Singh Ji (Braham Ji) and under the constant motivation of Sant Baba ManMohan Singh Ji, Chancellor, SBBSU. The initiative saw support and guidance from Prof. Dr. Dharamjit Singh Parmar, Hon’ble Vice Chancellor, Registrar Prof. (Dr.) Vikas, and Prof. (Dr.) Vijay Dhir, Dean Academics.
The program was conducted in collaboration with University Institute of Law, IQAC, District Legal Service Authority (Jalandhar), and NSS. Their involvement brought legal insight and enriched the event’s educational and social relevance.

Launched on 2nd October 2014, Swachh Bharat Abhiyan aims to eradicate open defecation and improve sanitation infrastructure across India. Under this mission, numerous toilets were built in rural and urban areas, alongside awareness campaigns on hygiene, waste management, and cleanliness. It has brought a significant shift in public mindset and fostered collective responsibility.
On the day of the event, students and faculty members actively participated in cleaning the ground near Block 7, especially the area beside the Gurdwara Sahib. The entries submitted during the competition were evaluated based on originality, theme relevance, visual appeal, and message depth.
The event concluded with an inspiring address from dignitaries who appreciated the creativity and social awareness of the students. A heartfelt vote of thanks was extended to Dr. Pooja Bali and the entire organizing team for their dedication and success of the event.
Swachh Bharat Abhiyan continues to be a landmark initiative, instilling a sense of cleanliness, pride, and national duty among Indian citizens.
On the occasion of Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, we remember and appreciate the inspiring leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi ji, who launched this nationwide cleanliness campaign on 2nd October 2014. On the occasion of Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, the students actively participated in a cleanliness drive by cleaning the parking area of the campus. With great enthusiasm and teamwork, they picked up litter, removed dry leaves, and swept the entire space to make it neat and tidy. This activity not only improved the cleanliness of the surroundings but also spread awareness about the importance of hygiene and community responsibility. The students’ dedication reflected the true spirit of the Swachh Bharat Mission and inspired others to contribute towards a cleaner and healthier environment.

After completing the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan cleanliness drive, the students and faculty members gathered for a group photograph to capture the spirit of unity and teamwork. The photo was taken as a token of appreciation for everyone’s active participation and dedication towards maintaining cleanliness. Smiling faces reflected a sense of pride and accomplishment after successfully cleaning the designated area.
