With the blessings of Chancellor Baba Manmohan Singh Ji and under the visionary leadership of Vice Chancellor Prof. (Dr.) Vijay Dhir, the Faculty of Agriculture at Sant Baba Bhag Singh University (SBBSU) successfully organized a Plantation Drive under the Green Campus Action Programme as part of the Bharat Environment Program – A Bharat Sustainable Campus Mission 2026 during Earth Week (22 April 2026 to 29 April 2026). The event was conducted under the aegis of IQAC and the Institution’s Innovation Cell, SBBSU.
The main objective of this initiative was to promote environmental sustainability through tree plantation and campus cleanliness, thereby fostering a greener and healthier campus environment. The programme began with a plantation drive led by the worthy Vice Chancellor, Dy. Dean Academics, Director IQAC, Dean Faculty of Agriculture, Head Faculty of Agriculture, CoD Faculty of Agriculture, and other esteemed dignitaries. During the event, nearly 30 plants were planted at various locations across the campus.
Subsequently, undergraduate students from the Department of Agriculture actively participated in a cleanliness drive conducted at different locations within the campus.
The programme witnessed enthusiastic participation from around 40 students along with all faculty members of the Faculty of Agriculture, SBBSU, demonstrating a strong collective commitment towards environmental conservation and sustainable campus development.
