Report

On 2nd August 2026, with the blessings of Sant Baba Malkit Singh Ji (Founder Chancellor) and Sant Baba Dlawar Singh Ji (Brahm Ji), and under the guidance of Hon'ble Chancellor Sant Manmohan Singh Ji and Vice-Chancellor Dr. Palwinder Singh, Sant Baba Bhag Singh University (SBBSU), Khiala, organized a special awareness programme under the nationwide 'Nasha Mukt Yuva for Viksit Bharat' campaign.
The programme began with the live online address of the Hon'ble Prime Minister of India, Shri Narendra Modi, who urged the youth to become the driving force behind a “Nasha Mukt Bharat”, emphasizing that the energy, determination and character of young people are the nation’s greatest strengths. He encouraged students to channel their talents towards education, innovation, sports, entrepreneurship and nation-building rather than falling prey to addiction. Stressing that every young person who chooses knowledge over drugs strengthens the future of India, he called upon educational institutions, teachers, parents and society to work together in protecting the youth from the menace of substance abuse. He also appealed to students to motivate their friends and family members to reject drugs and become ambassadors of a healthy and responsible lifestyle. As part of the campaign, more than 1,100 students and faculty members took the e- Pledge against drug abuse, reaffirming their commitment to creating a drug-free society. In addition, over 250 students participated in the offline awareness session organized on the university campus, where they pledged to spread awareness about the harmful effects of drugs and encourage healthy lifestyles among their peers.
The programme witnessed overwhelming participation and generated a strong sense of social responsibility among the students. The university administration appreciated the enthusiastic response of the participants and reiterated its commitment to supporting national initiatives that promote youth empowerment, health awareness and nation- building. The event concluded with a collective resolve by all participants to work towards the vision of a 'Nasha Mukt Bharat' and contribute meaningfully to the mission of 'Viksit Bharat 2047.'
