The pledges were written by participants and displayed on a common board, reflecting their dedication to environmental responsibility. Students further showcased innovative ideas through a Model Demonstration Activity, presenting working and conceptual models on renewable energy, waste management, water conservation and sustainable agriculture. An expert lecture session was conducted by Dr. Rajeev Sharma, former Head of the Department of Botany and Agriculture at DAV College, Hoshiarpur, and an active member of the Prithvi Welfare Society. His session on Environmental Challenges and Sustainable Lifestyles sensitized participants about climate change, pollution, resource conservation and the importance of adopting environmentally sustainable practices in daily life. After the lecture session, the university organized a Plantation Drive aimed at promoting greenery and biodiversity conservation, during which saplings were planted both within and around the campus.
A Cleanliness Campaign saw active participation from students and faculty members who collectively collected waste and promoted proper disposal practices to maintain a clean and healthy environment. Meanwhile, an extempore speech competition was organized to encourage students to express their views on environmental conservation, sustainable lifestyles, and responsible resource utilization. Complementing this activity, a Poster Making Competition was also conducted to provide students with a creative platform to visually communicate messages related to environmental sustainability. Students used their artistic skills to highlight critical issues such as climate action, biodiversity conservation and environmental protection.
To spread the message of environmental conservation beyond the campus, an Environmental Awareness Rally was held with students carrying placards and raising slogans on sustainable living and environmental protection. Additionally, a Best Out of Waste Competition encouraged participants to turn discarded and recyclable materials into useful and decorative items, emphasizing recycling, innovation and responsible resource use.
The collective impact of these activities was evident in the heightened environmental awareness, greater community engagement and renewed commitment of students and faculty to sustainable lifestyles. The campaign successfully instilled a sense of environmental responsibility and motivated participants to contribute to conservation through simple yet meaningful behavioral changes. Through these initiatives, Sant Baba Bhag Singh University reaffirmed its position as a socially and environmentally responsible institution, promoting sustainable living, fostering community participation and inspiring positive change toward environmental conservation and sustainable development.
The activities conducted throughout the campaign not only enriched participants' understanding of environmental challenges but also empowered them to serve as catalysts for positive change in their communities. By weaving together awareness, creativity, innovation, and community participation, the campaign successfully translated the vision of Mission LiFE into tangible, on-ground action. The enthusiastic participation of students, faculty and staff demonstrated the university's shared dedication to environmental stewardship and sustainable development. The campaign also deepened the spirit of social responsibility and reaffirmed that individual actions matter profoundly in addressing global environmental concerns. Sant Baba Bhag Singh University remains steadfast in its commitment to continuing such initiatives in the future and to advancing sustainable practices that build a greener, healthier and more resilient society.
