Educational tours offer hands-on learning experiences that deepen understanding of classroom subjects. Seeing real-world applications helps make abstract ideas more tangible. These tours often create lasting memories that students treasure. Such experiences can bring joy and inspiration long after the tour ends. Overall, educational tours enhance traditional classroom education by providing enriching, immersive opportunities that support students' overall development. With this objective, the Department of Life Sciences & Allied Health Sciences organized an educational tour on 1st October 2025. About 89 students from the Radiology discipline, along with their four faculty members, departed in two buses from the university at approximately 9:30 am. The buses reached the first venue, Chhatbir Zoo, Chandigarh, at around 1:30 pm. At Chhatbir Zoo, students explored a diverse range of animal species, including lions, tigers, deer, and colorful peacocks, all housed in spacious, natural enclosures. The lion safari was a major attraction that gave us a thrilling glimpse of wildlife in a semi-natural setting while learning about conservation and animal welfare. Later we reached our next destination, Rock Garden around 4:30 pm. The garden is spread over an area of 40 acres and is constructed entirely from industrial & home waste and thrown-away items. The garden was filled with sculptures of human figures, animals and abstracts made from broken pieces of ceramics, glass, bangles bottles and tiles. All the sculptures were fascinating and showcased the creativity and resourcefulness of the creator. The garden was designed beautifully to integrate the natural elements with waterfalls that add a serene environment to the garden. Overall the visit to Rock Garden and Chhatbir Zoo was both enjoyable and enriching. It was really pleasant and an incredible experience for all of us. Then we returned back with so many beautiful pictures and memories and reached the university campus at 12:00 Pm.
