Introduction

With the heavenly blessings of Reverend Sant Baba Malkit Singh Ji and Sant Baba Dlawar Singh Ji (Brahm Ji) and the benign endorsement of Hon’ble Chancellor Sant Baba Manmohan Singh Ji, the Department of Computer Science and Engineering, Sant Baba Bhag Singh University, successfully organized a One-Day cloud22 Computing Hands-on Workshop on 29th April 2026 in collaboration with O7 Services Company.

Under the able guidance of Worthy Vice Chancellor Prof. (Dr.) Dharmjit Singh Parmar, Dean Academics Prof. (Dr.) Vijay Dhir, Dean UIET Prof. (Dr.) Jagdeep Kaur, and with the constant support of Dr. Jagteshwar Singh (Director, Training & Placement), the workshop was conducted successfully. The event was coordinated by Er. Manpreet Singh and Er. Hitakshi.

Objectives of the Workshop

The primary objective of the workshop was to provide students with practical exposure to modern cloud technologies and bridge the gap between academic learning and industry requirements. The workshop aimed to enhance students’ understanding of cloud infrastructure, virtual systems, hosting environments, and real-world deployment techniques.

Participation Details

The workshop witnessed enthusiastic participation from students of:

B.Tech CSE (2nd, 4th, and 6th Semester)
B.Tech CSE (AI & ML) (2nd and 4th Semester)

More than 140 students actively participated in the workshop conducted in two different sessions.

Workshop Highlights

Morning Session

The morning session was organized for second and third-year students and focused on advanced concepts along with practical implementation. The students were introduced to:

Fundamentals and evolution of cloud22 Computing
Benefits and significance of cloud technologies
cloud22 Service Models: IaaS, PaaS, SaaS
Deployment Models: Public, Private, and Hybrid cloud22
Hosting and Domain Management
Virtual Machines and Virtual Servers

Students also received hands-on practical exposure in:

Apache Server setup and configuration
Linux-based server operations
Deployment of basic web applications

The practical activities enabled students to understand the real-time implementation of cloud platforms and server environments.

Evening Session

The evening session was specially conducted for first-year students and focused on foundational cloud computing concepts. Students learned about:

Basics of cloud computing
Importance of cloud technology in the digital era
Introduction to hosting and virtual systems

The session created awareness and curiosity among beginners regarding emerging cloud technologies.
