International Women’s Day was celebrated with great

Baba Bhag Singh University, Jalandhar, in the Sant
Baba Hardyal Singh (Musafir Ji) Memorial
Auditorium. The event was organized by the
Department of Student Welfare and Youth Welfare
with the objective of recognizing and honouring the
invaluable contributions of women across various
domains within the Sant Baba Bhag Singh Complex.
The programme commenced with the gracious
arrival and warm welcome of revered dignitaries,
including Hon’ble Chancellor Sant Baba Manmohan
Singh Ji, Sant Baba Sarwan Singh Ji, Sant Janak
Singh ji, Sardar Hardaman Singh Parmar (Secretary,
Sant Baba Bhag Singh Charitable Society), Dr. Vijay
Dhir (Vice Chancellor), Mr. Ranjeet Singh (Principal
of Sant Baba Bhag Singh International School), and
Ms. Manju Chawla (Principal of Sant Baba Bhag
Singh Nursing College). Their esteemed presence
added dignity and inspiration to the occasion.
On this special day, the university felicitated 26
women who have demonstrated outstanding
performance, unwavering dedication, and remarkable
contributions in their respective fields. The awardees
represented a diverse group, including faculty
members, non-teaching staff, students, attendants,
and safai karamcharis, reflecting the institution’s
commitment to inclusivity and respect for all sections
of society.
To encourage student participation and creativity,
competitions such as Fancy Dress and Character
Portrayal were organized. Around 30 students
actively participated and showcased inspiring
personalities, highlighting the strength, resilience,
and achievements of women in different spheres of
life. School students presented a vibrant Bhangra

to fostering an inclusive, supportive, and
empowering environment for women within the
university.
