Event Report
The Department of Computer Science and Engineering at Sant Baba Bhag Singh University organized an insightful and industry-oriented workshop on 13 May 2026 on the theme “Artificial Intelligence and Data Science using Python with Object Detection and Entrepreneurship.” The workshop aimed to provide students with practical exposure to emerging technologies and entrepreneurial opportunities in the field of Artificial Intelligence and Data Science.
The session was successfully conducted under the guidance of Er. Akashdeep Singh Rana, Assistant Professor, CSE and Coordinator of B.Tech. CSE AI & ML, along with Er. Kirandeep, Assistant Professor, CSE. Their efforts ensured smooth organization and active student participation throughout the workshop.
The workshop sessions were delivered by distinguished industry experts Balram Singh and Tushar Devkaran. The speakers shared valuable insights into the rapidly growing domains of Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, and Python programming. They explained how AI technologies are transforming industries and creating new career opportunities for students and professionals.
A major highlight of the workshop was the live demonstration of Object Detection using Python, where students learned how machines can identify and recognize objects in images and videos using AI models. The experts demonstrated practical implementations and explained the working of libraries and frameworks commonly used in AI-based applications. The session helped students understand real-world applications of computer vision, automation, and intelligent systems.
In addition to technical learning, the workshop also focused on Entrepreneurship and Innovation. The resource persons motivated students to think beyond traditional jobs and encouraged them to explore startup culture, innovation-driven projects, and technology-based business opportunities. They discussed how Artificial Intelligence and Data Science can be utilized to solve real-life problems and build impactful entrepreneurial ventures.
The workshop proved highly beneficial for the students as it enhanced their technical knowledge, programming skills, and understanding of current industry trends. Students actively interacted with the experts, asked questions, and participated enthusiastically during the practical demonstrations and discussions.
The event concluded with a vote of thanks to the resource persons, faculty coordinators, and participants for making the workshop informative, interactive, and successful. The workshop added significant value to the students’ academic growth, technical competence, and industry readiness in the field of Artificial Intelligence and Data Science.
