The Department of University Institute of Life Sciences and Allied Health Sciences, Sant Baba Bhag Singh University (SBBSU), Punjab, in collaboration with the Indian Society of Radiographers and Technologists (ISRT), successfully organized the 2nd National Continuing Medical Education (CME) on 11th November 2025 in Observance of world Radiology Day. The programme was organized with the objective of promoting academic excellence, enhancing professional competency, and creating awareness about the latest technological advancements and research developments in the field of Medical Radiology and Imaging Technology.
The CME witnessed an overwhelming response from the academic and healthcare fraternity, attracting more than 300 participants, including undergraduate and postgraduate students, faculty members, researchers, radiographers, radiological technologists, and healthcare professionals from various universities, colleges, and hospitals across the country. The programme served as an excellent platform for sharing knowledge, exchanging innovative ideas, and strengthening collaboration among academicians and healthcare professionals.
The inaugural session commenced with the traditional lamp-lighting ceremony and the welcome address delivered by the organizing committee. The dignitaries emphasized the growing importance of continuing professional education in improving healthcare services and highlighted the indispensable role of radiographers and imaging professionals in modern diagnostic medicine.

The students of Sant Baba Bhag Singh University showcased exceptional academic excellence and secured the First Position in the Oral Paper Presentation Competition as well as the First Position in the E-Poster Presentation Competition, reflecting the high quality of education, research orientation, and mentorship provided by the university. In the Model Making Competition, the students of GNA University secured the First Position by presenting an innovative and technically sound model, which received appreciation from the judges and participants alike.
The programme also provided an excellent opportunity for networking among students, faculty members, clinicians, researchers, and industry professionals. Participants interacted with experts, exchanged ideas, discussed current challenges in radiology practice, and explored future opportunities for collaborative research and professional development. The CME significantly contributed to strengthening academic partnerships between educational institutions and professional organizations.
The successful organization of the event was made possible through the dedicated efforts and visionary leadership of the organizing committee. The programme was organized under the able guidance of Dr. Shweta Sharma, Dean, University Institute of Life Sciences and Allied Health Sciences, who served as the Convener of the event. Her continuous encouragement and administrative support ensured the smooth planning and successful execution of the CME.
The event was efficiently coordinated by the Co-Conveners, Ms. Insha Imtiyaz and Dr. Akash Sharma, whose meticulous planning and active involvement contributed significantly to the success of the scientific programme and various academic activities.
The responsibilities of the Organizing Secretary were efficiently undertaken by Mr. Abdul Wahid, who coordinated all aspects of the event, including participant registration, communication with speakers, scheduling of scientific sessions, management of competitions, hospitality arrangements, and overall event coordination. His dedicated efforts, along with the support of faculty members, student volunteers, and organizing committee members, ensured the seamless conduct of the programme.
The event concluded with a valedictory session during which the winners of the Oral Presentation, E-Poster, and Model Making competitions were felicitated with trophies, certificates, and appreciation awards. The distinguished guests congratulated all participants for their enthusiastic involvement and encouraged them to continue contributing towards academic excellence and professional development. Certificates of participation were also distributed to all registered delegates.
