Ph.D. Entrance Test for April 2026 Batch will be held offline on 5th April (Sunday) at 10:00 AM onward

Applications are invited for admission to Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) programme (Full-Time and Part-Time) for the Academic Year 2025-2026 (April 2026 batch) in following disciplines: Management, Hotel & Tourism Management, Mechanical Engineering (ME), Civil Engineering (CE), Electrical Engineering (EE), Chemistry, Physics, Biochemistry, Microbiology, Law, Agriculture (Horticulture (Fruit Science); Agronomy; Soil Science & Agriculture Chemistry).
PhD admission will be as per UGC guidelines and as per notification ref no. - No.F.4-1(UGC-NET Review Committee)/2024(NET)/140648 dated March 27^th, 2024.
PhD Programme in Agriculture viz: Horticulture (Fruit Science); Agronomy and Soil Science & Agriculture Chemistry is offered through Full-Time mode only as per ICAR guidelines.

Instructions for Ph.D. Entrance Test for April 2026 Batch

Those who have cleared CSIR-NET/UGC-NET/GATE/SLET (Punjab) in their respective disciplines need not appear in the entrance test. Their merit will be finalized as per latest UGC norms ( UGC guidelines issued vide Notification No. F.4-1 (UGC-NET Review Committee)/2024 (NET)/140648 dated March 27, 2024 ).
Candidates who are not CSIR-NET/UGC-NET/GATE qualified, as well as those belonging to disciplines where NET is not conducted, can also apply for the admissions. SBBSU will conduct the PhD Entrance Test for admission to the PhD programme as per the schedule given in the advertisement.
Candidates who qualify the test will be eligible/shortlisted to appear in the Interview. However, it is mandatory for all candidates (NET/GATE qualified and non-qualified) to fill the application form online and deposit the applicable registration fee of Rs. 2500/- before the due date.
All information should be filled correctly; otherwise, the application form will be rejected.

3. How to Apply:

The link to fill the online application form can be accessed through the university website: www.sbbsuniversity.ac.in. Registration fee of Rs. 2500/- is required to be paid online by 02/04/2026. Fee deposit link is given below.

All candidates/applicants are required to apply online. Application fee shall not be refunded in any case.

The entrance exam will be conducted offline, on 05/04/2026 (Sunday) from 10:00 AM onwards. The candidates are required to report at least 30 minutes before the start time of the exam.

Paper I (Research Methodology): 10:00 AM – 11:00 AM
Paper II (Subject Specific Paper): 11:00 AM – 12:00 PM

Entrance question paper consists of 100 Multiple Choice Questions carrying 1 mark each (50 questions from Research Methodology and 50 questions from the concerned subject).

The admit card can be viewed/downloaded from 03/04/2026 onwards from the University website.

The interview of all shortlisted candidates (including candidates who have cleared NET/SLET (Punjab)/GATE) will be conducted on the same day after 1:00 PM onwards.

The final result of the selected candidates will be declared after the interview.

4.Steps for filling online registration form.:

Start filling the online registration form:

Fill the candidate name followed by father's name, mother's name & nationality.
Fill the gender followed by the category.
Fill pin number, Email ID, Mobile No., Aadhaar Card No.
Upload the latest passport size photograph (image should be less than 1 MB) and scanned OFFLINE fee receipt image along with its number and date.
Fill the complete details of educational qualifications.
Check your details properly and click on the submit button.
