Event Report

Introduction

The Department of Civil Engineering organized a Technical Quiz Competition under the Nirmaan Club as an academic enrichment activity on 20/08/2026. The event was conducted in the Civil Engineering Laboratory/Workshop with the aim of enhancing students’ technical knowledge and encouraging active learning through a competitive environment.

The quiz focused on Basic Civil Engineering and Construction Materials, providing students an opportunity to revise important concepts and improve their technical understanding.

Objective of the Event

The primary objectives of the quiz were:

To enhance students’ technical knowledge in Civil Engineering.
To strengthen understanding of basic civil engineering concepts.
To develop competitive spirit among students.
To encourage students to revise and apply their theoretical knowledge.
To improve quick thinking and problem-solving abilities.
To promote interaction and knowledge sharing among students.

Planning and Organization

The event was organized under the guidance of the faculty members of the Department of Civil Engineering. The Faculty Coordinator of Nirmaan Club, Er. Navraj Gill, took the charge of organizing and conducting the event and also the students coordinators of the club had helped in this event.

About 20 Students from different B. tech 3rd, 5th, 7th and M. Tech 1st semester actively participated in the competition.

The competition witnessed enthusiastic participation from students of:

B.Tech 7th Semester Students: Riya Devi, Rohit, Teekshan Rattan, Navdeep Singh

The judges for this event ensured smooth and fair proceedings throughout the question answering session.

7. Outcome of the Event

The Technical Quiz Competition was highly informative and engaging. It helped students:

First Position –-Joint Winners (5 Points Each)

Team B: Banakshi, Sahil, Manpreet, Saira, Love, Taniya, and Navdeep

Second Position (3 Points):

Team C: Rohit, Riya, Navpreet, Muskan, Sourav, and Mohit

Team A and Team B jointly secured the first position while Team C secured the second position.

Students are also provided with the refreshment after the completion of the event.

Feedback and Response

The event received positive responses from the participating students. Students found the quiz informative, enjoyable, and useful for revising their technical concepts. The activity successfully combined learning, competition, and enjoyment, providing students with valuable academic exposure. The Technical Quiz Competition was successfully organized by the Department of Civil Engineering under the Nirmaan Club.
